About Barry H. Josselson

For 24 years the Law Offices of Barry H. Josselson, A Professional Law Corporation have been the pre-eminent law firm in California devoted exclusively to the representation of dentists.  He has offices in Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Diego and Orange counties and represents more general dentists and specialists than any other lawyer in California.  Mr. Josselson advises more than 2,000 dentists in 32 states throughout the United States regarding their dental legal and business matters.

Mr. Josselson received his B.A. degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas and his J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California. Mr. Josselson was a member of Southwestern University’s Law Review (indicative of ranking in the top 5% of his class) and on two occasions received the American Jurisprudence Book Award for (i) Corporations and (ii) Estate Planning and Drafting (indicative of having ranked first in his law school class in each of those two courses).

Mr. Josselson's firm's emphasis is in taking care of health care professionals with particular focus on the dental profession. He has co-authored a book titled Success Guide for New Dentists and has written more than 96 articles for numerous professional journals such as the California Dental Association Journal, Dental Economics, Dental Management, Private Practice -- The Physicians' Journal, L.A.C.M.A. Physician, California Optometric Association Journal, Optometric Management, The Journal of the American Optometric Association, Veterinary Economics, California Veterinary Medical Association Journal, The Digest of Chiropractic Economics, California Chiropractic Association Journal, California Lawyer and The American Bar Association Journal.

Mr. Josselson also acts as defense counsel’s expert witness in lawsuits involving general dentists and specialists. He currently serves as an instructor to the 3rd and 4th year students and in the Graduate Practice Residency Program at the UCLA School of Dentistry, and as a guest lecturer at the UCSF School of Dentistry and in the Departments of Orthodontics at the USC School of Dentistry, Loma Linda School of Dentistry, UCLA School of Dentistry and UCSF School of Dentistry.  He has lectured before the (i) annual California Dental Association Spring Scientific Session in Anaheim, California, (ii) Scripps’ Dental Institute in San Diego, California, (iii) annual USC Pediatric Dental Association Alumni Symposium, (iv) Southern California Academy of General Dentistry, and (iv) numerous statewide component societies such as the Alameda County, Berkeley, Contra Costa, Harbor, Mid Peninsula, Monterey Bay, Orange County, Sacramento District, San Diego County, San Gabriel Valley, San Mateo County and Tri-County Dental Societies.

Mr. Josselson is currently a member of the California State Bar, the Orange County Bar Association and three of its sections: Corporate Law, Real Property Law and Estate Planning.
